The Lower Mainland Green Team joined us for our September workparty with an additional enthusiastic 17 volunteers. Unfortunately high winds kept us out of the trees as there was still lots of branches falling to the ground so we couldn’t tackle the english ivy. Instead, we created space around 30 newly planted trees by removing blackberry shoots and roots that came up and could outgrow the native trees if not extracted.
Evergreen led us to test water quality in the pond … after a long dry summer. We’ll post results later.
We hope the ivy and cinamon buns bring new friends back next month.
